Mrs. Jessie Evelyn Tharpe, 81, of Paris died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Henry County Health Care. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Taylor and Rev. Gene Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. She was born September 5, 1932, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late William and Isabella Teague Tharpe. She was the widow of Fred D. Tharpe. She was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Puryear. She leaves five children: Ada Mae (Berry) Cowan, Comas (Mildred) Tharpe, Joyce A. (Roland) Atkinson, Rickie (Minarvia) Tharpe and Timothy (Jessica) Tharpe; one brother: Granville Tharpe; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
