Mr. Jimmie Jerome Martin, Sr., 67, of Owensboro formerly of Fulton died Thursday, November 16, 2023, Heartford House in Owensboro, KY. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at The United Church of The Living God. He was born on June 23, 1956, to the late Missionary Jennie B. Douglas Martin and Deacon Lon Martin Sr., who preceded him in death. Also, a sister, Cynthia Martin, preceded him in death. He was a devoted member and the Senior Pastor Emeritus of Acts of Apostle Church of God in Christ - Paducah/Owensboro Kentucky. He was a faithful servant until God called him home. His employment includes serving in the United States Army, Fulton Kentucky Police Department, Holy Ghost Barber Shop (owner/Master Barber) of Cairo, Illinois, Salesman, and Entrepreneur. Besides, He was also a Heavy Weight “Champion” boxer, of the United States Army, while stationed in West Germany. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Jeannette (McFarLand) Martin, Hickman, Kentucky (later divorced). He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Jimmie Jerome Martin, Jr. of Austin, Texas; Chris Dewayne (ChiHiro) Martin, of Wakuni-Shi, Yamaguchi, Japan; Frederick Alexander (Tabitha) Martin, of Paducah, Kentucky; Victoria Patrice Martin, of Los Angeles, California; Bruce Washington Tyler Martin of North Carolina. He is currently united in Holy Matrimony to Ida Mae (Neal) Martin of Owensboro, Kentucky. He leaves to cherish his memories his brothers: Larncell Martin of South Fulton, Tennessee; Greg (Melissa) Martin of Fulton, Kentucky; and Reginald Martin, of South Fulton, Tennessee. He also leaves his sisters: Valeria Martin, of South Fulton, Tennessee; Kenyatta Willis, of South Fulton, Tennessee; and Angela Martin of Houston, Texas. He also leaves a host of (25) grandchildren and (1) great grandchild. In addition, he leaves several uncles: Major Martin of South Fulton, Tennessee; Louise (Theola)Douglas of Kankakee, Illinois; Larry (Alice) of Rockford, Illinois; and Paul (Faye) Douglas of Rockford, Illinois. Moreover, he leaves several aunts: Elaine Harris, of Fulton, Kentucky; Dorothy Douglas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Tammy Douglas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
