Jo Ann Nunley

Mrs. Jo Ann Nunley, 76, of Martin died Friday, October 28, 2011, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Old Fulton Road Church of Christ with Bro Nathaniel Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. She was born on October 24, 1935, to Willie Douglas and the former Mary Slaughter of Huntsville, Alabama. She was united in marriage on November 26, 1959, to A. V. Nunley in Huntsville, Alabama. To this marriage, four children were born. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Old Fulton Road Church of Christ. She was also a loving and devoted mother who worked as a nursing aide at the Volunteer Hospital, Weakley County Nursing Home and Van Ayer Nursing Home of Martin until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, A. V. Nunley; two daughters, Dorethea (Dean) Brooks of South Fulton, Tennessee and Luwanna Nunley of Waldorf, Maryland; two sons, Robert (Alexis) Nunley of Springdale, Maryland and Larry (Patricia) Nunley of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves one sister, Maezell Walker of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews as well as friends to celebrate her home going.
