John Edward Gilbert

Mr. John Edward Gilbert, 49, of McKenzie, Tennessee died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Taylor officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church on Friday. Mr. John Edward Gilbert was born on January 6, 1962, to his late parents, Charlie and Mary Neil Sneed Gilbert in McKenzie, Tennessee. John was reared in McKenzie and attended McKenzie public schools. He worked at Shoemaker’s Lumber Yard. He was a warmhearted person. He loved everyone and was always helping everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Gilbert. Leaving to cherish his loving memory are brothers, Bernard Gilbert, Timothy Gilbert and Bobby Sneed, all of McKenzie, Tennessee; sisters, Claudie Sutton of Wisconsin, and Ida Harris, Leda Gilbert and Sonia Gilbert, all of McKenzie, Tennessee and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
