John Wesley Scott

December 21, 1961 — September 30, 2015

Mr. John Scott, 53, of South Fulton died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at his residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Oakton, KY with Rev. Anthony Johnson and Rev. Derrick Fitts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. John Wesley Scott was born on December 21, 1961, in Arlington, KY to the Lee Thomas and Veatrice A. DeBoe Scott. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Oakton, KY. John was a faithful church member and truly a child of God. Bro. John had many jobs in his home church. He was a trustee, choir member and devotional leader. He was married to Ruthie Vinson Scott. Those who knew Bro. John knew him to be kind hearted and a loving husband, father brother, grandfather and friend. He leaves to cherish his wife, Ruthie Scott; a son Lucas Scott, Sr.; grandchildren, Quiontasha Roberson, Ah’Nyai Scott and Lucas Scott, Jr.; sisters, Carla Brooks, Carnice Cunningham and Deadra (Rev. Derrick) Fitts; brothers, Dennis Scott and Allen (Silvia) McKinney; stepchildren, Thomas Vinson, Travis Vinson and Shena Vinson; mother-in-law, Helen Greer; sister-in-law Vicky (Kim) Love; brother-in-law Roy Coble, Jr.; and a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Thomas Scott and Veatrice A. Scott; and brothers, Wendell T. Scott, Roger L. Scott and Anthony T. Scott Rawls Funeral Home – South Fulton 731-479-2181
