Our beloved Kelly peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the age of 57.
Kelly Ardran Callicott was born April 1, 1964 to the late Lola Belle Callicott. She was the adopted daughter and was reared by the late Phil Edward Callicott. She was a 1982 graduate of Union City High School and will always be remembered as the first African American majorette for the Union City High School Golden Tornado Marching Band. She also enjoyed playing the flute and was a member of the girls’ basketball team. She continued her education at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
She became a Christian at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she grew up in the Sunshine Band, attended Sunday School, Bible Study, sang in the choir, and served on the Usher Ministry. During her Christian journey, she attended Brooks Chapel and recently worshipped with Stir Up The Gift Ministry #2 until the time of her illness.
Kelly retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 2011 and later worked for Titan Tires, NSK, and Tysons Food until April 2021.
Kelly loved children, shopping, spending time with her family, cooking, and being a servant to others. Her beautiful smile, sweet, loving, kind, gentle and heart of gold spirit will forever be sorely missed. We thank God for sharing the gift Kelly was with us.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: 3 sisters, Candra Callicott of Alexandria, VA, Ansley Copper, and Ida (Sissy) Callicott of Union City, TN; her niece, Chambry Callicott of Union City, TN and her nephew, Justin Callicott-Harrell of Alexandria, VA; aunts, Marilyn Turner of Jackson, TN and Lyndia Turner of Union City, TN, who became her faithful caregivers, Janet (Rozell) Dotstry of Union City, TN, and Eula (Chris) Davis of Raleigh, NC; uncles, Willie (Ida) Anderson of Waldorf, MD, James Turner of Philadelphia, PA, Danny Turner of Washington, DC, and Troy Coleman of Jackson, TN.
Kelly, affectionately known as “GG”, was the doted godmother to JaBreeya Robinson and longtime friend of Cassandra Talley.
She leaves to mourn two special cousins Chris Turner and Sean Turner, whom while growing up, were considered brothers and a host of remaining cousins.
