Lawrence Payne

Mr. Lawrence Payne, 90, of Union City died Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Union City Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be Sunday, January 16, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Elder Darrell Turner will officiate. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday. He was born December 20, 1920, in Rives, son of the late Harris Homer and Christine (Brown) Payne. He had been employed at the former Cultra Landscaping and had attended the former Rives Chapel AME Church. Survivors include his brother, Willie Archie Brown of Memphis; and two nephews and the spouse of one, Horace and Willie Payne of Memphis and the Rev. James H. Payne of West Memphis, Ark.
