Lawrence Tharpe

Mr. Lawrence Tharpe, 75, of Paris died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Henry County Health and Rehabilitation.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lawrence Tharpe was born in Paris, Tennessee on May 25, 1949 to his late mother; Eula Mae McClain. Lawrence graduated from Central High School. Later, he joined the United States Air Force. He served from January 1969 to January 1975, retiring as an aircraft mechanic.

He is proceeded in death by his mother; Eula Mae McClain, brother; Willie Starks, Jr., and nephews; Derrick Handy and Isaiah Starks.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters; Jo-Ann Starks and Dorothy (David) Lomax, brother; Jerry Starks, a host of nieces, nephews, and his bonus family; Tammy Hutcherson, Brittany Long, and Katlyn Long.
