Leotis Bowers

Mr. Leotis Bowers, 83, of Union City died Monday, February 25, 2013. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Edward Bowers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Leotis Bowers, son to the late Roosevelt and Guy Bowers, was born August 19, 1929, in Whiteville, Tennessee. Leotis was united withEdith Mae Phelps who preceded him in death. He and Edith Mae had one child, Cathy Ann Phelps, who also preceded him in death. He was employed with Cultra Sod Farm. Those left to cherish his memory are his grandson that he and Edith raised as their own, Michael A. Phelps of Union City, Tennessee; he also leaves a host of great grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Neely (Odell) and Bernice Bowers, both of New York; three brothers, Willie Ray Bowers (Shirley) and George and Jimmy T. Lowe of New York; a brother-in-law, Bobby Phelps (Gladys) of Martin, Tennessee and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding him in death also include two sisters, Geneva Parham and Virginia Smith of Bolivar, Tennessee and four brothers, Ellis Bowers of New York, Roy Bowers of Kansas, Edward Bowers, Sr. of Bolivar, Tennessee and Fred Bowers of Memphis, Tennessee.
