Mr. Lester Massey, 79, of Union City died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Golden Living Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Brown Chapel AME Church with Rev. Clay Holiday and Rev. Richard Davis officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Lester Eugene Massey was born in Obion County, Tennessee on February 17, 1936, to the late Hattie Mae Massey.
He was a member of Brown Chapel A. M. E. Church, a member of Silver Trowel Lodge #2, a truck driver and a retired employee of the City of Union City.
He married Rebecca Tate Massey on December 25, 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Massey of Union City, Tennessee; his children, Gary (Linda) Dysart of Carbondale, Illinois, Joyce Lynn Dysart of Chicago, Illinois, Richard Dean (Grace) Wilkins of Paducah, Kentucky, Gwyn (David) Talley of Union City, Tennessee, Felicia (Mitchell) Churchwell of Union City, Tennessee, Regina (Bobby) Vinson of Woodland Mills, Tennessee, Greg Brown, Melvin (Jacqueline) Brown, Ernest Daniels, Clarence Earl Wilkins and Sheila Ann Turner, all of Union City, Tennessee and Billy Joe Wilkins of Paducah, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Angela Brown of Union City, Tennessee; a sister, Virginia (Billy) Wyrick of Elkart, Indiana; a brother, Melvin Massey of Elkart, Indiana; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two sons, five grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
