L.J. Kinney

Mr. L.J. Kinney, 85, of Hickman, KY died Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at West Hickman Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

L.J. Kinney was born on May 12, 1939, in Lake Co. TN to the late George and Isabella Kinney.

He moved to Chicago, IL and worked for Walsh Construction for over 40 years. He was married the late Ruby Thomas Kinney in 1970. He moved back to Hickman in with his great granddaughter Anastasia Booker.

He was also preceded in by his siblings, Lucille Brown, Lillian Pearson, Rose A. Pickett, Ethel Hillsman, Josephine Stoney, Robert Kinney, Allen Kinney and C.L. Kinney; a stepson Johnny Thomas.

Those left to cherish his memories are a brother, Ben Kinney; two granddaughters, Jennifer Thomas and Amanda Dandridge; a great granddaughter, Anastasia Booker; a lifelong friend, Precious Jewel “PJ” Newberry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
