Lon Martin

Mr. Lon Martin, 86, of South Fulton died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare Volunteer – Martin. Services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at The United Church of The Living God with Elder Margaret Pettigrew Officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.He was born on March 10, 1931, to the late Geraldine (Gardner) and Lon Martin.He was a devoted member and the senior deacon of The United Church of The Living God. A faithful servant until God called him home. He was employed with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and the City of South Fulton. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Minister Jennie B. Douglas Martin for sixty-one years. He leaves to cherish his memories children, Larncell (Ann) Martin of South Fulton, Tennessee, Jimmy (Ida) Martin of Owensboro, Kentucky, Greg (Melissa) Martin of Fulton, Kentucky, Reginald (Stacy) Martin, Valeria Martin and Kenyatta Martin all of South Fulton, Tennessee and Angela Martin of Huston, Texas; a host of grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; brothers, Major (Argona) Martin of South Fulton, Tennessee and Horace (Louise) Martin of Fulton, Kentucky; a host of in laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
