Lula Mae Askew

Ms. Lula Mae Askew, 88, of Ridgely died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at The Bay at Dyersburg.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Rawls Funeral Home.

Lula Mae Askew was born on August 6, 1933, to the late Frank and Velmar Smith Askew. She was one of six children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, M.C., Frank, Jr., Charlie Robert and Mamie Kate.

She is survived by her children Rufus and Terry Askew of Ridgely, TN and Linda Avery of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren, Shawn Johnson of Lincoln, NE and Wyran Johnson of Dyersburg, TN; a great grandchild, Paris Johnson of Dyersburg, TN; a sister Ruby Green of Hempstead, NY; two nieces, Tessie and Monasias Green of Hempstead, NY.
