Lula Mozelle Puckett

Mrs. Lula Mozelle Puckett, 79, of Paris at died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her residence. Services will be held at Noon on Thursday, August, 14, 2014, at Allen Temple CME Church with Rev. Lynn Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Lula Mozell Jones Puckett was born to the late Augusta Lena Tharpe Jones and Jim Jones on October 22, 1934 in the town of Henry, Tennessee. Lula confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and united with Cole Chapel CME Church in Henry, Tennessee. She later united with Allen Temple CME Church when she relocated to Paris, Tennessee. Lula attended elementary and high school in the school systems of Henry County, Tennessee, graduating from Central High School, Paris, Tennessee, in the class of 1952. She was united in Holy Matrimony to James Edward Puckett, Jr. on October 5, 1954. To this union, three children were born. Jeffery D. (Rita) Puckett, Lonnie E. (Ruby) Puckett and Tinita L. ( Charles) Johnson. Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Augusta Jones, children, Jeffery Dale and Lonnie Edward Puckett, brother, James Thomas Jones and granddaughter Tasha Puckett. Her employment services were utilized by The Rhea Clinic and Dr. Rhea, Paris, Tennessee for over 34 years. Lula M. Jones Puckett leaves to cherish her memory: Devoted husband of over 50 years, James Edward Puckett, Jr., Paris, Tennessee. Devoted daughter, Tinita Louise Puckett (Charles) Johnson, Atwood, Tennessee. Devoted Brother, Ambassador, Dr. Bobby L. Jones, Nashville, Tennessee. Her grandchildren include: Nicole White, Memphis, Tennessee, Lonnie Puckett, Jr. Memphis, Tennessee, Rico Puckett, Paris, Tennessee, Jeffery D. Puckett, Jr. Dallas, Texas, Pedra Puckett, Memphis, Tennessee, two step grandchildren Mikia Smith and Nadia Odell both of Memphis, Tennessee. Great grandchildren include: Isis Puckett, Madison Puckett, Kalynn Henderson, Chloe Bell, Wynter Odell, Layden Puckett, Alyssie N. Puckett, Hydia Smith, Makyla Smith, Kalyiah Smith. Aunts, Helen (James )Warren, Champaign, Illinois, Waynie Puckett, Paris, Tennessee, Mary Eaves , Louisville, Kentucky, Daughter in Law Rita Puckett, Dallas, Texas.
