Mrs. Lula Ware, 90, of Union City died Saturday, February 8, 2020, at her residence.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Church of Jesus For All Deliverance Ministries. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church.
She was born July 25, 1929, one of eleven children to Joe and Alice Bray.
She was married to the late Charlie “Rooster” Ware and to this union was 5 children: James E. Ware (Bumpy), Joe L. Ware (Lois), Steven E. Ware, Regina A. Ware Newberry (Robert) and Ricky L. Ware (Sharon). She raised one niece as her daughter: Christine M. Evans.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Union Hill CME, Jackson TN where she served on the Usher Board and sang in the Choir. After moving to Union City, she continued to serve at Shiloh Missionary Baptist and Everfaithful Missionary Baptist church. Before her retirement, she worked several years as a cook at E.W. James & Sons and Olympia Steakhouse.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Nine grandchildren: Reico Newberry (Cassandra), Rodney Thompson, Jason Thompson, Erica Ware, Ricardo Ware, Natasha Frazier (Robert Jr.) Marvin Glenn, Jeff Glenn and Monica Bogan (Michael) Two sisters: Mattie Bray, Jackson Tn. and Laura Person, Humboldt. Twenty great-grandchildren, Fifteen great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: Joe Willie Ware, and grandson: Ricky Dion Ware.
