Ms. Mamie Foulks, 71, of Fulton died Friday, September 10, 2021, at AHC VanAyer.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, at The United Church of The Living God. Interment will follow in Greenlea Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Mrs. Mamie L. Foulks was born on November 19, 1949 to the late W. P. and Mamie Morris.
Upon graduation from South Fulton High School in South Fulton, Tennessee, she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she was employed at the Sears Tower, downtown Chicago, for 15 years. Later, she was employed by the Board of Education in the Chicago, Illinois School System.
She was married to Rodger Kirby, Sr. of Chicago, Illinois. Mamie was the mother of two children: Tongnita Porterfield of Fulton, Kentucky and Rodger Kirby, Jr. of Central City, Kentucky. After moving back to Fulton, Kentucky, she married Thomas Foulks of Huntington, Tennessee.
Mamie Foulks was a faithful member of the United Church of Living God, Fulton, Kentucky. She served on the Mother’s Board and the Hospitality Committee. “Mother Mae”, which she was affectionately called, was loved and she will be missed by her church family.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Tongnita Porterfield of Fulton, Ky; her son, Rodger Kirby, Jr. of Central City, KY; one sister, Margaret (Danny) Pettigrew of Fulton , KY; two brothers, Micheal Morris of Chicago, IL and Walter Morris of South Fulton, TN; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W. P. and Mamie Morris ; three sisters; and two brothers.
