Marcetta Ross

Ms. Marcetta Rashae Ross, 31, of Martin formerly of Union City died Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.

Marcetta Ross born in Union City, TN on April 18, 1991, to Menta and Willie Ross. Marcetta graduated from Union City High School in 2009 and went on to attend Niagara Community College to play basketball. She eventually returned to Tennessee where she attended Austin Peay State University for some time. She later decided a change in the course of her career and became licensed as an independent licensed insurance adjuster. Her most recent employment as an independent licensed insurance was with Crawford & Company. Marcetta brought much joy and laughter to her family and friends. Anytime she entered a room, her infectious smile could light up anyone’s soul. She enjoyed shopping, make up and beauty activities, styling hair, and hanging out with her friends and family. Most of all, she loved and adored her son, he was her world. If you were lucky enough to be present when she gazed into her child’s face, the pure joy radiating from her would blind you. Marcetta wanted nothing more but for him to have a wonderful life. Marcetta was a very social person and had a countless number of friends. In her younger years, she played basketball and softball.

Marcetta was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Willie Mae Thompson and Montreal Thompson Sr; paternal grandparents Josephine Ross and Dr. Riley Wallace; and uncles Dennis Thompson, Robert (Inky) Thompson , and Earnest Roberson .

Marcetta leaves to mourn her passing her son Brenna Boyce of Union City; parents Menta Ross and Willie Ross of Union City; sister Tamisha (Keith) Hodum of Walnut, MS; brother Denae (Breanna) Ross of Hendersonville, TN; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
