Mrs. Marilyn Kelly Teague, 76, of Paris died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at her home.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Progressive Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Marilyn Kelly Teague was born on March 30, 1949, in Paris, TN to the late Genella Jackson Kelly and Robert Earl Kelly.
Marilyn accepted Christ at an early age and remained a devoted and faithful member of Progressive Baptist Church in Paris, TN. Her faith anchored her life and guided the gentle, compassionate way she moved through the world.
She was educated in the Henry County School System and was a proud graduate of Central High School in Paris, TN, Class of 1967! She later attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. Marilyn carried deep pride in her Paris roots and cherished lifelong friendships formed along the way.
Marilyn possessed a quiet, gentle spirit, yet she loved her family and friends fiercely. As a young girl, her family circle grew with the addition of her loving stepfather, Freeman Craig, Jr., her embracing stepmother, Verna Jean Kelly and six siblings. She treasured family deeply and was immensely proud of each accomplishment, always ready to celebrate and brag on those she loved.
She was united in marriage to Charles “Rudy” Christopher Warmack, and from this union her beloved daughter, Angela (aka Pooh), was born. She later married Bobby Lewis Teague, Sr., and from this union her son, Bobby, Jr. (aka Chip), was born. Her children were her pride and joy, and she loved them in a steady, supportive way that reflected her enduring devotion as a mother.
Marilyn found joy in working and greeting people. She loved retail and spent many years serving the community, first retiring from Walmart and later returning to work at Dollar General, where she continued doing what she enjoyed most - helping others and welcoming familiar faces with warmth.
She had a fun-loving side that those close to her cherished. Marilyn enjoyed relaxing with her favorite classic TV shows, especially Gunsmoke, Mama’s Family and Cops. She was a devoted Chicago Bears fan and was thrilled to witness an exciting season before her passing. She appreciated the simple pleasures of life including a good margarita, good music and time spent in her own quiet space. Though social and warm, she valued her privacy and found peace in moments of solitude.
Marilyn was known for her impeccable style. She loved to shop, loved fashion and always presented herself with grace and polish. Whether headed to church, work or a family gathering, she carried herself with confidence and elegance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Freeman Craig, Jr.; siblings Charles Eugene Kelly and Winzell Kelly; sister Velva Ann Kelly; and her former spouses.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Dr. Angela Stone (Alton, Jr.) of Nashville, TN; her son, Bobby Teague, Jr. (aka Chip) of Paris, TN; her grandchildren, Eleana Stone and Farran Stone of Nashville, TN; her step-grandson, Alton Talley-Stone (Hannah) of Antioch, TN; one step-great granddaughter; her brothers Christopher Kelly (Patricia) of Southfield, MI and Michael Kelly (Kimberly) of Inkster, MI; her sister Schnette Orr (Wallace) of Inkster, MI; her aunt Mattie Golden of Detroit, MI; her sister-in-law Shirley Kelly of Detroit, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends who loved her dearly.
Marilyn’s life was marked by quiet strength, deep faith, steady love and undeniable grace. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her fashionable flair, her loyalty to family and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
