Martha "Bug" Johnson

Ms. Martha "Bug" Johnson, 92, of Fulton died Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Services will be held at noon on January 4, 2020, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in South Fulton. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery in Union City.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Martha E. Johnson was born April 10, 1927 in Woodland Mills, TN to the late Cleave Johnson and Jenny Walker Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early life. She was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in South Fulton, TN, where she often helped with the preparing and serving meals during special programs.

Martha Johnson was very warm and caring person with a very quick wit about her. She was always willing to help where needed and was a member of the Community Serving Club, where she would prepare food for families during the time of their loss.

Martha Johnson was preceded in death by her father Cleave Johnson, her mother Jenny Walker Johnson, her only son Homer McGawon , six sisters, three brothers and host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

She leaves to cherish her memories Granddaughter Stephanie Gray, Grandson Kevin Gray, Nieces Regina Wilkins, Deirdre Newbern, Lafay Johnson, Nephews Fredrick Kerney, Delmont Newbern, Rod Johnson, Adopted Son, Reverend George Turks, Jr., great grandchildren and host of friends and relatives
