Martha Elizabeth Cole

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Cole, 79, of Hickman, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Haws Memorial Nursing Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Craig officiating. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. She was born on May 4, 1939, to the late John Nicholson and Frances Buchanan Nicholson Gaston in Hickman, KY. She was married to the late Rev. M.C. Cole. She was a former member of Lake Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and later a founding member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with her husband. She was an Eastern Star and was an employee of the former Reelfoot Packing Company. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Samuel Cole (Lorraine Allen), Wanda (Henry) Thomas, Cathy Busby (Montrell Russell), Marilyn (Johnny) Turner and Neal (Sherry Diane) Cole and a special son, Paul (Curtistine) Wilson; two sisters, Dorothy Gaston and Verna Moore; two brothers, W.C. Nicholson and Charles Gaston and twelve grandchildren, Tamika, Chelsea, Jessica, Glenn, Malcolm, Tyree, Latoya, Felicia, Carla, Sam Jr., Aylessa and Jonathan.
