Mary Frances Jenkins, born on December 9, 1936, in Mooring, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home in Ridgely, Tennessee, on November 23, 2025. Mary led a life filled with love and compassion, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
A devoted member of St. John #3 Missionary Baptist Church, Mary was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to her church community. Her life was a testament to the joy of loving everyone, which she embodied through her actions and kindness.
Mary is survived by five children: Roy (Francis) Swift, Jessie (Von) Swift, Jeanine (Richard) Johnson, Melvin (Susan) Swift, and Andrew Swift. Additionally, she is cherished by her sisters, Claudia Wilson and Ethelene Span. Her legacy continues through her family, including twenty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Jenkins, and her parents, Robert, Sr. and Mary Louella Martin Swift. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Louise Swift and Vernelle Maxwell, two brothers, Edward Lee Swift and Robert Swift, Jr., and a great-grandson, Derrick Swift.
Visitation for Mary Frances Jenkins will be held on November 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at St. John #3 Missionary Baptist Church, located at 908 Lake Street, Tiptonville, TN 38079. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery.
