Mary graduated from Central High School in Paris, TN in 1951. After graduating from high school, Mary married William C. Mullins and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Mary loved traveling, fishing, catering, and loved serving in her church. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. She served as an Usher, Choir member, and Adult Sunday School Assistant. She was active in civil rights movement and believed in equality for Black Americans. Mary was a caregiver for the Flanner House, and she was a retail sales associate for Watsons Department Store. Mary's first husband, William Mullins passed away in 1994.
Mary would move to be with her loving partner Raymond Thompson. In Sparta TN they lived on their farm and lived happily there for over 25 years together. She was a member of Kynett United Methodist Church. Mary had a loving community of friends and neighbors that gave their-love and support to her while she resided in Sparta, TN.
Mary would move to Clarksville, TN after her loving partner Raymond Thompson passed away. In Clarksville, she lived with her niece Clarissia Morgan, great niece Olivia Humphreys, and sister Barbara Morgan. Mary gave so much love and support to all her family. She allowed her love for God to shine through her and everyone she met felt compassion, joy, kindness, and wisdom. Just like Mary's favorite color purple meaning: royalty, creativity, wisdom, dignity, devotion, pride, peace, and extravagance; Mary exhibited all these characteristics in her life. Mary was dearly loved, and her niece Clarissia was blessed to have her live with them for the last eight years of her life. We will always cherish her loving spirit and support. Mary's loving memories will always live forever in our hearts.
