Mrs. Mary Travis, 92, of Paris died Friday, November 15, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Quinn Chapel AME Church with Elder James Travis officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
She was born February 15, 1921, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late John and Zula Bryant Washum.
She was married on Aug. 26, 1967, to Randolph Travis, who died Aug. 2, 1996.
She was a member of Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Paris, where she was the oldest living member, member of the usher and steward boards, choir and woman of the year.
She leaves one child: Fred (Rose) Wynn of Paris, who is a gospel minister; two granddaughters, who she raised: Felicia Teague and Fredda Wilson, both of Paris; three stepsons: Frank, Randolph and Lucian Travis; five other grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a special friend: Anna Van Dyke.
Two sisters and four brothers also preceded her in death.
