Melvin Henry Puckett, “Bounty Hunter,” was born October 13, 1952 to the late Melvin and Margaret Puckett. He was born in the back woods raised by a gator with two sets of jaw teeth with a double coat of leather.
He graduated from Wingo High School in Wingo, KY. He received a degree in Mortuary Science in Louisville, KY and served his apprenticeship at Sapp Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. He was an employee at KY-TN Clay Company, General Tire, and farmed on the side. He joined the Army in 1983 and was honorably discharged and started working at Turner Dairy in Fulton, KY. He worked there for 27 years. He was an extremely hard
worker and loved working there. It took the plant closing in order for him to retire. While working at Turner Dairy he became self-employed bailing and selling “Puckett Hay” until he was attacked with Covid-19.
Melvin was a good husband and provider. He would help anyone he came into contact with.
As the assistant pastor of Brooks Chapel Kingdom Harvest, for 22 years he hosted the Gospel Corner Radio Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, and up until March 2020, the Noon Day Bible Study.
Melvin was also a hunter and a great cook. He loved attending the Wild Game Dinners eating and fellowshipping with the Men Under Construction Ministry.
After battling Covid-19 for thirty-one days, he transitioned to the other room. He was a bible believing, devil stomping, gladiator for God.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Norma Puckett, daughter; Melva (Marcus) Dinwiddie of Collierville, TN, son; Melvin “Mel” Puckett Jr. of Fulton, KY, Christina Christian Puckett of Hopkinsville, KY, three brothers; Dale (Teresa) Puckett of Las Vegas, NV, Carter Puckett of Danville, IL, James (Shaa) Hutcherson of Stone Mountain, GA, three sisters; Regina (Alan) Kent, and Linda Spann both of Chicago, IL, Lucille (Charles) Hayes of Wingo, KY, many sister and brother in-laws, an aunt; Charlotte McClure of South, Fulton, fifteen grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, Spot, The Dog, Spider, Goldie, Surprise, Bella, the horses, and serval unnamed goats and a cat.
He is now happier than a fox in a hen house full of voiceless one legged chickens
