Michael Carl Calcutt

Mr. Michael Calcutt, 65, of Union City died Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.

Michael Carl Calcutt was born May 26, 1958, in Tiptonville, TN. He was the third born child of four children.

He received Christ at a young age at Rock of Ages CME church in Tiptonville, TN. Michael attended Lincoln School in Tiptonville, TN.

Michael had so much love for his family and friends. He enjoyed going to see everyone whether they were in or out of town.

Michael loved his Soap Operas every day and he watched every sport that was to be watched. He loved talking on the phone with his family & friends especially when it came to debating about who team was the best. He loved the nursing home facility he was in. He went to the cafeteria to eat his lunch and dinner with the older residents. He loved going to the Wednesday service there when they had guest speakers preaching the word of God. He loved all the parties that they had at the facility as well.

On January 6, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. He opened one of his eyes and looked at the family in the room with him and then took his last breath and went home to be with his Heavenly Father, he was at peace.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Sharon (James) Kinney and Pearl Calcutt, both of Union City, TN; host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bernard and Lydia Calcutt; one sister, Marilyn Calcutt and grandparents.
