Dorita Michelle Mosley, “Chelle”, “TT”, “Me’she”, was born August 13, 1965 in Union City, Tennessee to the late Henry Mitchell Bass and Doris Jean (Mitchell) Bass.

She was a 1983 graduate of Union City High School. She attended Murray State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in the year of 1988. On December 10, 1988, she wed James (Jimmy) Mosley of Union City, Tennessee. To this
union, three children were born: Shayla Camielle Mosley, Jalyn Nicole Mosley, and Noah James Mosley. She was a loving wife and devoted mother who always sacrificed her needs and put her family and others first.

Michelle was dedicated to the work of the Lord and was a devoted member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She served as a member of the Junior Mission, President of the Gospel Chorus, Youth Leader, Mission Department, and other various committees of the
church. In 2016, on the 26th day of May, she was ordained in the Western Division of Freewill Baptist, Inc. under presiding Bishop, Raymond Captville; Annual Bishop, Richard Davis; and under the leadership of Pastor Ron Smith.

She started her professional career at Children’s Corner Child Care Center. Later, she worked at Lake County Health Department where she was a case worker. Then, on August 25, 1994, she started a career with North West Tennessee Head Start/Early Head Start. She worked for Miles Head Start for 17 years where she later became Center Coordinator. She was a devoted teacher/coordinator who cared for the children beyond the classroom. After her retirement on November 30, 2011, many joked with her about her calling never ending due to the FACT that the children never stopped coming.

She leaves to carry on her spirit: her husband, James (Jimmy); four children, Shayla, Jalyn, Noah, and Azurie; her siblings, Barry (Rosalyn) Bass, Tony Bass, Craig (Teresa) Bass, Darrell (Tasha) Bass; also, a loving family of in-laws: Judy Jones, Robin Phelps, Devon Garmon, Danny McQuarter; her nieces and nephews, Torrie, Courtney, C. J., D. J., Ta’shanna, Dee, Tae, Brian, Rynara, Marlena, Myra, Michell, “Lil Greg”; and a host of great nieces and nephews; God-children, Jada, Kyan, Kylee; all her other babies, Chase, Amanda, Lovey, Ariyah, Jasiah, Kavari, Aaliyah, Brylee, and everyone else’s children in Union City, Tennessee.

In addition to her father and her in-laws, she was preceded in death by special cousins, Knox Bass, Julia Bass , and Karen “KK” Murphy .
