Mrs. Parthena Fulton, 94, of Union City died Monday, May 16, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Beach Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Parthena Norwood Fulton was born June 15, 1921, in Charleston, Mississippi, to the late Alison and Anna Norwood.
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Obion, Tennessee. She later moved to Union City, Tennessee and became a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She worked as a caregiver for many years.
She was a loving and caring person. She loved everybody and everybody loved her. When you asked her something, she would tell you like it is. She was easy to laugh and easy to cry. She always was striving to do the right thing. She really loved the Lord.
Those left to cherish her memories are four sons, Grady Fulton, Jr., R. D. Fulton, Willie B. Fulton and James Earl Fulton, all of St. Louis, Missouri; three daughters, Willie Mae Fulton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mary Lee Fulton and Dorothy Boddie, both of Union City, Tennessee; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Fulton, Sr.; two grandchildren, Melessa Ann Boddie and Kathy Ann Boddie and a great grandson, Darion Boddie Thompson.
