Mrs. Pauline Scott Ball, 69, of Union City died Monday, April 22, 2013, at her residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Brown Chapel AME Church with Rev. Clay Holiday officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. She was born July 21, 1945, daughter of the late Callie Jones and the late Frank Young of Saltillo, Mississippi. She was a faithful member of Brown Chapel AME Church. She was a former employee of the Salant & Salant Corporation and Fred’s Super Dollar. She is survived by her loving granddaughters, Sophia Scott and Monica Cornell; five great grandchildren; ten sisters, Ollie Henderson and Addie Young of St. Louis, Missouri, Adal (David) Harris, Evelena Anthony, Eartha Bradley, Polly Richery, Mary Young, Loretta Robinson and Sara Young of Tupelo, Mississippi and Lavern McDaniel of Indiana; five brothers, John (Era) Young, William Young, George (Gussie) Fair, James Young and John Lee Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie “Ball Man” Ball, a daughter, Karen Scott and three brothers, Willie Lee Young, Bob Young and Frank Lee Young.
