Mrs. Pauline Byars, 79, of Paris died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at her residence.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Church of the Living God on Porter Street. The Rev. Joe Rawls will officiate. The eulogy will be delivered by T.L. Taylor. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born November 12, 1931, in Paris, to the late Herschel and Jewel Page Olive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Byars. The couple was married on April 25, 1953.
She is survived by a son: Donald (Medaline) Byars, of Houston; two daughters: Paula (James) Stockdale and Judy (Mickey) Patton, both of Paris; six sisters: Virginna Skinner, Joy Diggs and Verlynn Gaines, all of Murray, Zora Sanders and Bessie Williams, both of Paris, and Donna Diaz of New York; three brothers: Slvester Olive and Bobby Olive, both of Paris, and R.C. Olive of Murray; nine grandchildren, including a grandson, Duone (Monica) Byars, whom she raised; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She also was preceded by a son, Richard Byars; and three sisters: Mildred Todd, Jennie Kennely and Ester Blakemore.
