Mrs. Priscilla Ann Kendall, 75, of Huntsville, AL formerly of Paris died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. John Dandridge officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Priscilla “Prissy” Ann Kendall was born on January 24th, 1940 in Paris, Tennessee to Joshua and Ozella Hill. She attended Quinn Chapel A.M.E church for a great part of her life. She was an active member of her church, singing in the choir and serving
on both the Usher and Stewards board.
Priscilla’s husband, William Kendall, parents Joshua and Ozella Hill, brother LaVern Hill and son Carllee Johnson, precedes her in death. She is survived by her sister Francis (Johnny) Olive-La Cour, daughters Cynthia Tharpe, Ava Hudson, Debra Tharpe, Lori VanDyke, Karen Tharpe and Tamera Tharpe and her sons Robert Tharpe, Dennis (Julia) Tharpe and a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild Jordyn Kendall.
As a child, Priscilla attended Henry County Training School and finished at Central High School. Priscilla was a very hard worker, as so she always worked multiple jobs. Because of her love for people, she became a dietician at Henry County Hospital and also made a career working in the health care arena. She worked at Midland Brake for a number of years then retired. Her true calling returned her to providing private home care for multiple individuals.
Many who knew Priscilla called her Mommy. She had an exceptional gift from God that allowed her to love each and every one of her children individually and in a way that made them feel like her only child. She was very loving and nurturing to her family and everyone she met. Her character gave her the roll of the neighborhood “mommy”. She ultimately lived her life to inspire, love and serve others.
