Ramona Janyce Mccloud

April 3, 1936 — December 19, 2021

Mrs. Ramona Janyce McCloud, 85, of Union City died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Visions Community Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Ramona Janyce Caldwell McCloud was born April 3, 1936, to Lester and Dora Caldwell in Rives, Tennessee.

Ramona was also referred to as “Monie” by her family and friends.

Monie professed Christ at a young age. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church where she was baptized as a young girl.

She was currently serving as a church Mother at Visions Community Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for many years. Past Matron of Batsheba OES Chapter 16.

Monie was a graduate of Miles High School. She went on to get her Degree in Education from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. She traveled to many states singing in the Glee Club in which she really enjoyed. She was also a member of the AKA Sorority.

Monie was a retired elementary teacher with Union City School System. She loved all her students and they loved in return. Her home was always opened to children in the community who needed nurturing and care. An example instilled in her from her loving parents.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Juan McCloud; sister, Winona Marie Hensley “Who Were Two Peas In A Pod” you didn’t see one without the other; a brother, Jerry Chambers; three grandsons; a granddaughter, two great grandsons a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kinnie Lee McCloud, Jr.; her parents; four brothers, Bobby Caldwell, Baby Boy Caldwell, Reggie Caldwell, and Terry Chambers. Also, preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great grandson.
