Mr. Rueben Ransom, 62, of Martin died Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Minister Jackie Thomas officiating and Apostle Maurice Wright eulogist.
Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the church on Thursday.
He was born August 12, 1952, to Robert Ransom and Maggie Abernathy in Pinehill, Alabama.
He confessed Christ as his Lord as a young man. He was “found faithful” and served as a minister of the gospel. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for thirty-six years. He lived in Akron, Ohio where he was raised.
He then moved to Gadsden, Alabama where he met his wife of thirty-six years, Eunice. They were married on October 21, 1978. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eunice Ransom of Martin, Tennessee; two children, Reuben D. Ransom of Gadsden, Alabama and Sabrina Ransom-Adams (Ben Adams) of South Fulton, Tennessee; six grandchildren; his mother, Maggie Abernathy of Akron, Ohio; five sisters, Mary Hosey of Hampton, Georgia, Clemmie Knox, Rebecca Allen and Lorene Ransom, all of Akron, Ohio and Willene (Willie) Smith of Cleveland, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ransom and his brother, Henry Ransom.
