Rev. Carvene Jameson, 71, of Huntingdon died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Huntingdon with Rev. Larry Jamison officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. On March 22, 1941, was born Carvene Jameson to his late parents, Prentice Jamison, Sr. and Hallie King Jamison. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and began his work in the ministry. On June 16, 1963, Carvene married Raylean King Jameson (deceased) and to this union three children were born. Carvene was a faithful member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. He sang in the Male Chorus, Sunday School teacher, Deacon and Treasurer. In 1996, Carvene accepted the call as Pastor at the Williams Grove Baptist Church of Camden, Tennessee. During his Christian journey, he sang with the Old Kingdom Aires, the Kingdom Aires and the Heavenly Crowns of Huntingdon, Tennessee. Pastor Carvene served as Assistant Pastor and teacher of the Deliverance Ministry Full Gospel Faith of Wildersville, Tennessee. Pastor Jameson shared the gospel with whomever he came in contact with and loved to sing God’s praises. Carvene was a member of the Huntingdon Police and Sheriff’s Departments for a number of years. He was also employed with the Brown Shoe Company and the Linden Cleaning Services. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; five sisters; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; twin grandsons and one daughter-in-law. Carvene leaves to cherish his memories two sons and one daughter, Steve A. (Sheryl) Jameson of Atlanta, Georgia and Mark E. (Tasha) Jameson and Tamica L. Jameson of Huntingdon, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Dewayne (Cornelia) Jamison of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Louise Blankenship and Vella Mae (Ben) Owens of Huntingdon, Tennessee; nine brothers-in-law; ten sisters-in-law; special friend, Ms. Daisy Pearson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
