Rev. Dr. Robert Hayes, 65, of Fort Worth, TX formerly of Fulton died Friday, March 11, 2011, in Texas.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday March 19, 2011, at Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church in South Fulton. Rev. Leroy Brent will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlea Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
He was born January 31, 1946, in Fulton, son of the late Evelyn Alexander and the late Robert Hayes. He was a member of First Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Fort Worth and was the author of children’s books and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, the former Diane Zhang, whom he married Feb. 16, 2008; three daughters and his son-in-law, Lisa Kinney of South Fulton, Craigene (Hayes) and Arthur Meyer of Culpepper, Va., and Brittina Hayes of Copenhagen, Denmark; two sons, Andre Ford of Chicago and Julian Hayes of Richmond, Calif.; his stepdaughter, Yingqi Zhou of Champagne, Ill.; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Calvin Ivory of Milwaukee, Glenda Ann Garmon and Janice Couch, both of Fulton, Robbie M. and James H. Johnson of South Fulton, Evelyn and Darryl VanLeer of Madison and Elaine and Hui Yoa Jiang of Toronto; two brothers and his sister-in-law, Sam and Carolyn McManus of LaCenter, Ky., and Lincoln McManus Jr. of Fulton; and five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren
