Mr. Richard David Cawthon, 62, of Union City died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Watford officiating.Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
He was born on April 10, 1950, in Rives, Tennessee to the late R. D. and Lillie B. Slayton Cawthon.
Richard was a graduate of the former Miles High School. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
He leaves to mourn his passing a brother and sister-inlaw, Joe Mac (Bessie) Cawthon of South Fulton, Tennessee; nieces, Tai Tanisha Cawthon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Shelby Nicole (T J) Cawthon Bevly of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Chenora Cawthon, Kemi Cawthon and LaShonda (Lamont) Cawthon Arnold, all of Union City, Tennessee. Also several great nieces and nephews; two devoted cousins, Martha Helen Slayton and Adell Donlow; a host of other cousins and relatives and friends, Samuel Shaw and James Gary.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Dora Mae Wilkins, Martha “Penny” Cawthon and Dorothy Nell Cawthon.
