Mr. Robert Dysart, age 89, of Union City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Ohio Health Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Union City, with interment to follow at East View Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Robert Dysart, Jr. was born on July 14, 1936, in Union City, to the late Mollie Ingram and Robert Dysart, Sr. A lifelong resident of Union City, he was known for his strong spirit, warm sense of humor, and candid nature.
Robert shared over 20 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Dysart, who preceded him in death. Together, they created a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and family memories. Robert retired from the Union City Housing Authority and was a devoted member of Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church, where he found joy and fulfillment in worship and fellowship.
Throughout his life, Robert pursued many interests. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, collecting guns, and listening to blues music. Whether he was recounting tales by the water or sharing laughter after a successful hunt, he cherished life’s simple pleasures. Those who knew him will remember him as a man of conviction who spoke his mind and stood firm in his beliefs.
In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by siblings Anna Margaret Thomas, Thomas Dysart, J.B. Dysart, Annie Ruth Edwards, Charles E. Dysart, Bobby Roberson, and Ernest Roberson.
He is survived by three children: Michell (Ron) Garrett, Timothy (Kii) Dysart, and LaKisha (Lance) Nicholson; stepchildren Lekesha (Armand) Young and Gregory Steward; and eighteen grandchildren, including Mychal Foster, Tasheuntai Foster, Ellis Dysart, and many more. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and a loving network of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.
Though Robert has transitioned from this life, his spirit, strength, and legacy will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
