Ronald Louis Atkins was born July 5, 1964, to the late George and Christine Atkins. He was the 7th child of seven children. Two of his siblings have preceded him in death, Michael Atkins and William Billy Atkins . Ronnie was educated in the Martin Public School System. Afterwards, he went to live with his sister and brother-in-law in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After a few years in Michigan, Ronnie moved back to Martin, Tennessee where he held down various jobs until his health kept him from working.
In his early 20’s, Ronnie was befriended by the late Reverend Joe Beale who took time out to give Ronnie a few pointers about life as well as helping him to begin his Christian journey. Although Ronnie was free spirited, as we all were at one time, Ronnie did come to know God and accepted God as his savior.
Ronnie leaves to mourn his passing two loving sisters, Anita Deans (Willie Deans) of Grand Rapids Michigan, Shelia Williams (George Williams) of Martin, TN, whom was there for Ronnie during his time of illness and at the end. Two brothers, George Atkins and Ricky Atkins (Debbie Atkins) all of Martin, TN, a loving niece Tamika Bailey, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. I must also mention Ronnie’s lifelong friend and cousin, Keith Brown
