Rose Marilyn Arnold

Mrs. Rose Marilyn Arnold, 70, of Martin died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Rose Marilyn Arnold was born on October 13, 1951. Rose was born in Martin, TN to Lucille and stepfather Vander Scott. Martin has been her home her entire life. She graduated in August of 1969 from Weakley County Training School.

She attended Terrell Grove Baptist Church as a child then attended and became a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church as an adult. She was a faithful member until illness prevented her attendance.

She was a member of the usher board and early morning prayer team. She worked at UT Martin for 20 plus years as a supervisor of the food court. Everyone that encountered her loved her. She was a very helpful, loveable, outspoken, kindhearted, friend, sister, aunt, and a Granny and Mother to anyone she encountered. She would lend a shoulder to cry on, if needed, would help and do anything for anyone. No one was ever a stranger. She was the caretaker of her mother. She was known for her sweets she made for family and friend gatherings.

Her favorite things to do were cooking, spending time with her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, enjoying family and friends, and watching a good movie.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two loving children, Shawana A. Smith and Angela K. Davis, six grandchildren, Ashante Smith, Noel Davis, Nyisha Smith, Anyua Davis, Justice Baker, Nu’Kyiah Davis and two great grandchildren, Ahmari Bransford and DaMari Bransford; nine siblings, Dorothy J. Garmon (Richard), Lou Pearson, Lula M. Evans (Payton), Walter C. Scott (Kim), Pomonia J. Thompson (Stanley), Bobby Joe Scott (Angie), Robert E. Scott, Randy D. Scott (Jackie) and Hattie Hankerson; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
