Roy Williams

Mr. Roy Williams, 88, of Tiptonville died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Reelfoot Manor Health and Rehab.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church #3. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Mr. Roy Williams began his journey of life here on earth on January 2, 1933, in Portageville, MO to the late Hosey Williams and Willie Mae Johnson.

Roy was a member of Rock of Ages C.M.E Church. He retired from Reelfoot Lake State Park in Tiptonville, TN after many years of working as a farmer. He was a family man; he loved being both a dad and “grandaddy”. He also loved to fish, help those in the community, and spend countless hours at the Tiptonville Senior Citizen visiting with friends.

Roy married Dorothy Johnson Williams in 1957. They shared twenty-eight years before she passed away. To this unit he leaves to cherish his memory six children, Mable Thomas of Paducah, KY, Eric (Bridgette) Johnson of Tiptonville, TN, Donnie (Lettie) Johnson of Union City, TN, Robert (Renee) Williams and Juanita Williams both of Tiptonville, TN and Redina Williams of Union City, TN; thirty grandchildren, sixty-five great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren;  a sister, Earlie Rollins of Brooklyn Park, MN; two special nieces, Emma Jones and Vanesta Dance both of Tiptonville, TN; three sisters in law, Johnnie Mae Rowe and Lurline Parham both of Charleston, MO, and Betty Johnson of Paducah, KY; two brothers-in-Law, Lewis Johnson and James Thomas Johnson both of Paducah, KY and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

On August 15, 1987, Roy was married to Lillian Frison Williams. They celebrated Thirty-Three years together. He leaves three stepchildren, Earl Frison, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Frison both of Tiptonville, TN and Michelle Frison of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law; Joann Frison and a brother-in-law, Billy Abbott of Tiptonville

Roy was preceded in death by wife Dorothy in 1985, wife Lillian in 2020, his parents, two children: Nora Ware and Dennis Nettles; three siblings, Corrine Weatherspoon, Alonzo Burton, Isaiah Haynes and a grandson, David Ware, Jr .
