Ruby Inez Tharpe

Mrs. Ruby Inez Tharpe, 82, of Paris died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Henry County Healthcare Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ivy Jamison officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday. She was born March 26, 1931, in Monaville, she was a daughter of the late John Luther and Mary L. Tharpe Porter. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She was married on October 5, 1946 to Junior Tharpe, who survives. She also leaves six children: Vernell (Sharon) Tharpe of Nashville and John Tharpe, Larry Tharpe, Carlene (Thomas) Shields, Margaret Freeman and Linda Tharpe, all of Paris; one brother: Cecil (Ruthie) Porter of Paris; one sister: Mary L. Teague of Chicago; a brother-in-law: John (Hazel) Tharpe; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
