Mr. Rynara Murphy, 47, of Atlanta died Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Rynara was born in Paducah, KY on November 24, 1976, to (late) Karen Murphy and Richard Amos. He was a 1995 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and received a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2001.Shortly after receiving his degree, Rynara returned to his hometown of Paducah where he was hired as the Director of the TeenLink Family and Youth Resource Center at Paducah Tilghman.  It was in this position that he developed a true love for mentoring students.  During his tenure at his former high school, he was the founder of the Kappa League where he spent countless hours mentoring, emphasizing the importance of character and academics to his students.  You could always overhear Rynara saying frequently, “Good character accompanied with a good education was the true path to excellence.” Because Rynara was a great example of what he preached, students were very fond of him, finding him genuine, compassionate and a person in which they found trust. In 2008, Rynara accepted a new position as a Retirement Counselor with the State of Tennessee in Nashville. In 2017, he moved to Decatur, GA where he was employed as a Staff Accountant at Truelio in Atlanta, GA.

Rynara was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church in Paducah, KY. He was also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated which was truly one of his most proud accomplishments; you could frequently catch him delivering, confidently, the perfect shimmy and throwing up the YO! Another very special piece of his heart was his dedicated, fun loving and always energetic best friend BB King who we could always count on being the life of the party.

Rynara was a child of God and will be remembered to many as a sincere and kind soul; he was a Superstar.  If you crossed his path, he undoubtedly made you feel valued, loved and priceless. He was our main character, a most exceptional man who loved the life that he lived!!!

He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Joyce Murphy and maternal grandfather, Joe Knox Bass ; uncle, Knox Eric Bass; and aunt, Sheila Larae Bass ; and paternal grandparents, Williette and Cooper Odell Amos.

Leaving behind to cherish everlasting memories are his maternal grandmother, Bettie L. Murphy of Union City, TN; his father, Richard (Phyllis) Amos; one brother, Courtney Amos both of Paducah, KY; two sisters, Ashley (TJ) Evans of Nashville, TN and Allison (Chris) Smith of Houston, TX; one uncle, Kim Simpson; one nephew Titus “TI” Evans; two nieces, Coi “Coco” and Chayse “Cha” Smith; one God-daughter, Areanna “Angel” Orr of Lexington, KY; and an abundance of beloved cousins, special friends and fraternity brothers.
