Sammy Warren

Mr. Sammy Warren, 80, of Union City died Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday December 2, 2023, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home.

He was born May 9, 1943, in Humboldt, TN to the late Juanita (Festus Mayes) Martin and John Warren. Sammy is preceded in death by his sisters Betty, Janice, and Barbara; brother Eddie and Jerry; grandchildren Marcus Lynn Taylor and Myranda King.

Sammy worked for many years with the Union City Public Works Department before his retirement. Sammie spent most of his spare time cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his grandchildren and telling stories to make them laugh.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor and the love he showed toward his family and friends.

Sammy is survived by his loving wife and caretaker Catherine Warren. His children Margret, Evette, Paul, Veronica, and Sam. His stepchildren Tosha, Sabrina, Leatoya (Neil), and Jasmine.  Sammy also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings Cora (Edward) Martin, Marion Martin, Deborah Smith, and James McKnight. Two sister in-laws Ruth Westmoreland and LaJean (Ray) Boyle and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Sammy will be remembered for his humor, love for his family, and his dedication to his career. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
