Mr. Samuel Glenn Jones, 68, of Union City died Monday, December 21, 2020, at his home.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Thomas Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Samuel Glenn Jones was born June 30, 1952, to the parentage of Ocie and Erma Jones.
He received his formal education at Fulton County High School, in Hickman, Kentucky. He attended one year of college at Kentucky State University, where he studied Elementary Education.
He was employed at Fulton County Transit Authority (FCTA) for 28 years. FTA remembers Samuel as a person who was “steady as a rock” both personally and professionally. “He cared about his job, clients, and coworkers.”
Samuel accepted Christ at an early age. He became a member of the Thomas Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Hickman, Kentucky, where he loved his church and served as a steward until his demise.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ocie and Erma Jones, and his sister Carolyn Smith.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are son, Samuel Jamar Bellamy of Atlanta, GA; three granddaughters and a grandson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Barbara J. McIntee of Hickman, KY, and Brenda K. Walker of Bossier City, LA; three brothers: Rufus (Cheval) Jones of Killeen, TX, Eliga (Stella) Walker of Huntsville, AL, and George Walker of Carrollton, TX. A special friend, Billy Joyce of Union City, TN and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
