Mrs. Sandra Cross Warren, 63, of Hickman died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Kingdom Harvest (Old South Fulton Baptist Church) with Dr. Jessie Webb officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church.Sandra Jean Cross-Warren was born August 13, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan the third of seven children to Wallace and Bessie Cross. Her parents preceded her in death. She was educated in the Detroit Public School system and studied nursing at Wayne County Community College. Sandra was the mother of two sons, Emmitte LaVon and Micah Lashaun who she made the center of her world. She cherished her friendships and loved spending time with her family. Upon entering adulthood Sandra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and spent many years as a faithful member of Pentecostal Temple. Sandra was an avid soap opera watcher, often watching with tissue in hand during the big emotional scenes. She also enjoyed bus trips and going out to eat with family and friends. She was very giving and often put other’s needs before her own. After her father passed in 1997, Sandra relocated from Detroit to Union City, TN to assist her grieving mother. Sandra started a new life in Tennessee with a new job and new friendships. She and her mother returned to Detroit in 2000 and a few years later Sandra relocated again to Union City. Sandra met and married Willie Warren and moved to Hickman, Kentucky where she became a member of Brooks Chapel . In this marriage she became a loving step-mother to Chris and Yavonda Freeman. Sandra began to experience several health challenges and spent a lot of time in the hospital with her husband by her side. During her work tenure she was employed in the fields of child care, nursing assistance, packing and assembly before health challenges lead her to take a disability leave from Tyson Foods Corporation. Her passing has left a void in the lives of those who loved her including her husband Willie Warren, her loving sons Emmitte Cross and Micah Cross; Her grandsons Ethan, Isaiah and Noah; Her step-children Chris and Yavonda Freeman; Her siblings, Delores (Robert) Williford, Wallace (Joann) Cross, Deborah (Allen) Allison, Tony Cross, Ronald (Claudette) Cross and Jeffrey Cross; Her mother-in-law Hattie Warren; In-laws, a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.
