Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Dean, 100, of Hickman died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare -Volunteer Martin.Services will be held at noon on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Thomas Chapel CME Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.Sarah E. Dean was born to Rev. Fagan and Effie Chambers on December 11, 1917, in Johnsonville, Tennessee, both parents preceded her in death. She had six siblings, Frankie, Sammy, Harvey, Missious Bell, Pearlee and Lois, all preceded her in death. She received Christ at an early age, her father, F. D. Chambers, was an A. M. E. Methodist Minister. The family moved from Johnsonville, Tennessee to Kentucky where she lived until her home going on December 14, 2017. She was blessed by the Good Lord to see her 100th birthday on December 11, 2017.She was married to Willie Clint Dean and to this union was born five children, Betty Hughes Mays (James), Jeannette, Eddie Ray (Brenda), Brenda Cole, her niece that she raised from nine months to adulthood and Lamont Wilkins, her grandson she raised from four years old to adulthood. Her employment included field work, domestic work and raising her family and village of kids. She was Mother-of-the-Year at Thomas Chapel. A Stewardess, she worked hard on many projects to help build Thomas Chapel on Seventh Street, Hickman, Kentucky. She received a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Hickman in 1997.She was a beloved daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, aunt and mother of the church. She leaves to cherish her memories four children; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; one-brother in law, Bob Dean of Chicago Heights, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Bernice Dean of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
