Ms. Shemecka Harrell Williams, 45, of Union City, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at her home.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Brooks Chapel Kingdom Harvest Church. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery in Obion.
Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday at the church.
Shameka Harrell was born March 21, 1978, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tennessee to Wayne Harrell, Jr., and Pamela Flowers. Later, she was adopted by Wayne Harrell, Sr.,and Carlene Harrell.
She received her education in the Obion County Central school system. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Obion County, where she sung in the choir. She was employed at Tyson for several years before accepting a management position at Check into Cash. She loved to dance, keep people smiling, shopping, and dressing up. She also loved and wouldn’t anyone’s banana pudding but her Uncle Rodney’s. She would grunt and say, “Umm this is so good!” She was such a joy to be around. Everyone would always laugh and smile when she was around. Shameka will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Pamela Flowers, Wayne Jr. and Janet Harrell, Wayne Sr., and Carlene Harrell, three children, Diamond Harrell, Aliyah Harrell, and Demarcus Harrell, four grandchildren and one on the way, five siblings, Wayne Harrell III, Diamond Harrell, Shaunte Harrell, Olivia Harrell, and Benjamin Harrell, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Flossie Flowers and grandfather, Jessie Flowers.
