Steve Lewis Whitsey

Mr. Steve Lewis Whitsey, 59, of Hickman died Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Steve Lewis Whitsey, born on April 29, 1961, to Mrs. Jean Whitsey- Green and the late Thomas Earl Byrd was a lifelong resident of Hickman, KY. He attended Fulton County High School where he was affectionally known as “Byrd”. Steve had a generous spirit and a pleasant personality. He had an unbinding love for life, family and community, his smile and playful nature will remain forever in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

He leaves to treasure his sweet memories: his mother Jean Whitsey- Green of Hickman, Ky, three sisters, Marissa Griggs and Libby Spears of Memphis, TN and Kimberly Hagler (Willie) of Hickman, KY, one brother Greg Spears (Kimberly) of Obion, TN. Three Nephews, Greg Spears Jr, Jalen (Riley) Griggs, John Cameron (Sherika) Griggs of Memphis, TN, one niece Racretia Spears of Nashville, TN. one great niece Shylin McElrath, a great nephew Ka’Gion Lewis of Nashville, TN and one aunt Amelia Warlick of Evanston, IL.
