Mrs. Sylvia Hansbro, 89, of Trezevant died Sunday, March 27, 2022, NHC Healthcare Milan.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday at the church.
Sylvia Bigham Hansbro was born to the late Emanuel and Faye Bell Bigham on December 3, 1932. Sylvia attended school at Webb School in Mckenzie, TN.
Sylvia professed a hope in Christ at an early age and spent her youth and young adult years serving faithfully as a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Mclemoresville, TN.
On December 30, 1951, she united in marriage to John Edward Hansbro. To this union, two children were born: Sylvia Ann and Karen Elease.
Sylvia then united alongside her husband at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Trezevant, TN where she served as Youth Choir director and member of the meal committee. She was well known for her potato salad and English pea casserole!
Sylvia worked as H.I.S. factory in Trezevant, TN for many years and retired in 2002.
In her spare time, she enjoyed yard work, cooking and caring for others.
She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Preceding her in death are her parents Emanuel and Faye Bigham, brothers Rogers Bigham, John Curtis Bigham, sisters Swayzene Waters Cunningham and Albenda Scates Webb, a niece Dr. Alacia Bigham, a nephew George Avery Scates and her husband, John Hansbro.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters: Sylvia Ann Webb and Karen Elease Carter, both of Trezevant,TN; two grandchildren: William Xavier Hansbro (wife Chelsea), Gaithersburg, MD; Brittany Faye Webb of Trezevant,TN; great grandson, Zion Xavier Hansbro; great granddaughter, Ella Grace Hansbro, both of Gaithersburg,MD; brother, Emanuel Bigham (wife Jewel) of Nashville, TN; aunt, LuVergene Adkisson of Trezevant,TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
