Thelma Rachel Gardner

Ms. Thelma Rachel Gardner, 90, of Martin died Monday, January 9, 2012, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church. She was born on July 25, 1921, in Henderson, Tennessee, to the late Cleveland and Cora (Shields) Anderson. She was married to the late James Gardner and a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her cousin and caretaker, Elsie Templeton of Martin Tennessee.
