Uncle Walter, as everyone affectionately called him, was born February 17, 1922, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harrison (Clarinda) Clausell.

He was married to the late Lillie Mae Farmer.

He lived in Mt. Vernon, IL for many years after leaving Union City at a young age, but always returned to visit his sister Geneva Bass and close cousin Edward Turner. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a member of the Sunshine Senior Citizen Center of Mt. Vernon where he was loved and cherished by all. In a newspaper article written about him it was stated, "one could not find a more cheerful person, always laughing, joking, singing, dancing or doing a good deed." He was a member of the kitchen band and although he was a member, he volunteered his services. He was an avid harmonica player and enjoyed playing the spoons.

Due to health problems, he left his beloved Mt. Vernon and came to the Fulton Nursing and Rehab where he was loved as well. He is loved by his family and all who knew him.

Uncle Walter is survived by his niece Mrs. Beverly (Charles) Willis of Wheaton, IL, niece in-law, Mrs. Ollie Mae Bass of Dallas, TX, devoted and loving nephews Robert Bass of Jackson, TN, Gerald Bass of La Mesa, CA, and a special nephew Rodney (Myra) Bass of South Fulton, TN and devoted and Loving cousins of the Edward Turner Family of Union City, TN along with a host of other relatives and friends.
